The big West of Bathurst book order is scheduled to go through today. Last-minute pre-orders remain open until 3:00 p.m. Toronto time. Both versions of
the book are available on my Bandcamp site. This Kickstarter update goes into further detail. Speaking of the WoB Kickstarter, the first of the stretch goals--which was reached--came with a full month of daily It Never Rains comics. That starts on Monday, with a caveat or so: 1) I should have thought more carefully about my phrasing. I write my comics in six-strip bunches, whereas there are seven days in a week. I am a creature of habit and unwilling to add a seventh comic to each bunch. Therefore, there will be in-sequence comics from Monday to Saturday and an extra panel on Sunday. 2) The other thing I should have considered is that a month is longer than four weeks. Thirty-one days of comics are, again, hard to cram into my six-comics-per-bunch schedule. However, I am a cartoonist of my word (more or less). Since I promised a full month of comics, I'll round up rather than down and give you daily comics for five weeks, not four. I'll be starting the daily run on July 5th and ending it on August 9th. The Kickstarter almost made the second stretch goal, which would have earned you another month of daily comics. I didn't absolutely promise that, but I may do it eventually (possibly next summer). I don't think I'll be able to manage it this summer, as I have one or two other things I really need to get done. At any rate, stay tuned for the First Great It Never Rains Extravaganza. Good times. |

Panel 1: Iz, Rose, and Denise listen outside Jennifer's door. Something inside the room is going, "Plink...plink...plink...plink..." Panel 2: Now the noises coming through the door are "NEENAANEENAANEENAANEENAANEENAANEENAA," Plink...plink...", and "RRRRRRRRRRRRRR." Panel 3: Someone inside the room says, "Testing...esting...esting...esting," with the weird quality of the echoes denoted by a multicoloured speech bubble. Panel 4: Again, we get "Plink...plink..." Iz: So is she a genius or a mad genius? Rose: Only time will tell. Go to commentary |
