Panel 1: In
Iz's hospital room, Iz has cracked open his eyes, and Rose, after a
moment of panic, has found a way to call a nurse. A young woman in pink
scrubs enters the room.
Nurse: What is it?
Rose: His eyes are open.
Panel 2: The nurse leans over to examine Iz. She grasps his chin and peers into his face. He does not respond.
Nurse: Hmm...could be a reflex.
Rose: Has he ever done it before?
Nurse: No.
Panel 3: The nurse takes Iz's hand.
Nurse: Iz?
Iz squeezes her hand...or, more likely, twitches his fingers weakly. However, it is, at last, a response.
Nurse: Holy--
Panel 4: The nurse freezes in place, her eyes wide.
Nurse: I'm going to need you to leave the room because I have to call everyone.
Rose: Me too.
