right, I know we're all confused, but we're going to power through and
hope it all starts to make sense eventually. Okay? Okay.
In
April of 2022, Iz is standing in the park, holding his phone. A woman
walks past him. Discerning readers will recognise her as the woman who,
in the timeline we've already experienced, ran to help Iz after he
passed out. In this timeline, he has not passed out. However, the Iz who did
pass out appears to have become a disembodied voice, detectable by no
one but himself. We are calling him Iz B, while the Iz we can see is Iz
A.
Iz A [thinks]: I have to develop a strategy.
Iz B: What's that? I'm not thinking that.
Panel 2:
Iz B: How am I having thoughts without thinking them? Why can't I move my arm? I sent that text.
Panel 3: Iz A puts the phone in his pocket.
Iz A [thinks]: I'd better just go home and calm down.
Iz B: I don't want to calm down! Except I also apparently do!
Panel 4: Iz A walks through the park as Iz B begins to panic.
Iz B:
Oh my God...fate is real. It's real and a puppetmaster and what if
there are other people walking around trapped in their own bodies
because they defied fate and help meeee...
