Wacom
update: This will be my last update until the cable arrives (if it ever
does). The situation at the moment is that I'm using my Surface, which
is designed to work with its own pen (but can't because the pen isn't
available in Canada until July 20), and an entry-level Wacom tablet to
edit comics. This would be an okay solution except for one fun little
Wacom quirk: the pen tends to lose its pressure sensitivity frequently,
forcing me to shut down and reload Photoshop. Sometimes the presure
sensitivity remains intact for half an hour or so; sometimes it lasts
for three seconds. Yesterday, in a forty-minute session, I had to
reload Photoshop seven or eight times. This is a problem I had with the
higher-end Wacom tablet on my other Windows 10 computer as well. On my
Windows 7 computer, just shutting down Photoshop wouldn't work; I would
have to reboot the computer, at which point I would be informed that
the tablet driver wasn't running, and I would have to reboot
again...and again...and again...and again (sometimes up to thirty
times). The funny thing is that I had way
fewer problems back in the day when I was using my tablet with Windowx
XP. The Wacom driver was less advanced ten years ago, but it
also actually worked.
Gosh, I hope the Surface pen is awesome. |
