Fun but largely irrelevant anecdote:

I was mucking around on my computer yesterday when I noticed a file from February of 2013 entitled "Time Travel Story Without a Name." Curious, as I didn't remember creating this file at all, I clicked on it. It contained two paragraphs of a story about a woman named Margaret who opened her door to a knock and was confronted by a chubby older woman who claimed to be her from the future.

It does kind of interest me that I apparently came up with Maggie a year before I started writing It Never Rains. I guess I forgot about her consciously but not subconsciously. Even the name of the character is telling.

Panel 1: Iz, Rose, and Kristi are sitting on top of a concrete wall, eating ice cream.

Rose: Jennifer's not that bad, you know.

Panel 2:

Rose: Granted, her experiments may not be entirely safe, but I don't think she's trying to destroy the very fabric of reality.

Panel 3: Rose and Kristi stare at each other as Iz eats some ice cream.

Panel 4:

Rose: Yet.

Kristi: I'm going to go build a bomb shelter now.
