Just a note to those of you getting used to me posting around 9:00 p.m. EDT on the day before the comic's official publication date (most of the time):  I'll be teaching a condensed evening course on Tuesdays and Thursdays for the next six and a half weeks.  Since the course runs 6:30 to 9:30, and it takes me time to get home, I'll likely be posting closer to 10:30 p.m.  I do still have a comfortable buffer, so there's no danger (yet) of a repeat of the Last Days of West of Bathurst; I just need to post later because it's difficult to upload comics while teaching people about fairy tales.

Panel 1: The boy who just stole Rose's cane and his friend run through the park.

Friend:  Oh, man!  I can't believe you did that!

Thief:  Oh dude oh dude what do I do what do--

Panel 2:  The boys are passing the panhandler with the "It Never Rains Consulting" sign.  The thief throws the white cane at the panhandler, hitting her on the top of the head.

Friend:  Give it to the homeless lady, man!

Thief (very loudly):  You take it!  Ah ha ha ha!

Panel 3:  The panhandler holds the cane in one hand.  In the other, she holds what looks like a pocket watch.  She squints down at the watch.

 Panel 4:

Panhandler (shouts after boys):  Right on time, thanks!

Panhandler (more quietly, to herself):  I guess I did remember to wind it.

Alt-Text: Well, that's maddeningly mysterious.  How unusual for something of my creation.
